National Geographic: Major Scientific Discover On The Mid-Atlantic Ridge, 04/08/2011
The Irish-led VENTuRE scientific expedition aboard the national research vessel RV Celtic Explorer discovered a previously uncharted field of hydrothermal vents along the Mid-Atlantic Ridge – the first to be explored north of the Azores. The footage of the Moytirra deep-sea vent field was captured by the (remotely operated vehicle) ROV Holland 1 which shown in an upcoming National Geographic Channel Series called Alien Deep.
