The first quarter of 2011 has been extremely busy and productive for the Marine Institute, beginning with the visit of President Mary McAleese to the Marine Institute at Oranmore in January, an epic voyage of discovery across the Atlantic to Newfoundland by the RV Celtic Explorer and ending in early April with the historic visit of His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco and his fiancée, Ms. Charlene Wittstock.
