In line with its mandate to promote the sustainable development of our marine resources, the Marine Institute has designed a five-day in-service course for National School teachers to introduce marine themes as examples of both skills and content to assist schools in teaching the SESE Science curriculum.

The course includes field trips to a local sandy and rocky seashore, a tour of the Marine Institute Headquarters and laboratories in Oranmore, Galway and practical classroom sessions on how to bring the sea to the classroom through cross curricular activities.
