Ireland is an island with a seabed territory of 220 million acres, a long and eventful seafaring history and a rich maritime tradition in the arts. Therefore, the seas and oceans offer many opportunities to introduce cross-curricular lessons and activities when teaching subjects such as science, history, geography and design & making, music and language.
