Understanding the characteristics of our environment enables us to appreciate what is unique to where and how we live. This experience also provides us with an opportunity to compare our environment to other places locally, nationally and internationally.
The lesson plans below provide an opportunity to look at the interrelationships of the marine environment and develop an informed appreciation of the world’s largest natural habitat – the world’s oceans and seashores.
Students can also develop a sense of personal and community responsibility in taking care of our marine environment.
