First established in 2006, the Latin American Conference on Culture of Native Fish was held in Morelia, Michoacán, Mexico. This Conference was organized based on the Mexican experience in holding the Mexican Conference on Culture of Native Fish. At that conference and after fruitful discussion the idea of organizing this meeting on a regular basis was established in order to gather different people interested in this activity including technicians, researchers and aquaculture entrepreneurs.
Within this framework, the 2nd Latin American Conference on Culture of Native Fish will be hosted in Chascomús City, Argentina. The major structure of the previous meeting will be preserved including: Plenary Lectures, Oral and Poster Presentations.
Topics include:
1. Status and potential for the culture of native species in Latin America.
2. Economic and social impact of aquaculture in Latin America.
3. Aquaculture and biodiversity (conservation and environmental impact).
