Earth Observation in Ireland, Acquisition, Analysis and Application First call for abstracts – closing date Friday October 9th 2009 The acquisition and analysis of Earth Observation data through satellite, airborne, shipborne and ground-based methods is a major activity in the academic, commercial and public sectors in Ireland. The potential offered by these technologies to deliver solutions to contemporary problems is leading to the development of innovative application and stimulating Ireland’s knowledge economy. This Symposium provides an opportunity for those working in the Irish Earth Observation sector to meet and present their work in either oral or poster format. Postgraduate students are particularly encouraged to attend, and there will be a substantial cash prize for the best oral and poster presentations from postgraduate students (sponsored by Geological Survey of Ireland).
