The 7th International Congress of Limnology-Oceanography (ICLO) of the Union des océanographes de France and Association française de limnologie aims to bring together limnologists, oceanographers and specialists in human and social sciences, in order to discuss how to control water quality including rivers down to estuaries and the sea with a view of initiating a multidisciplinary reflection on a cross-cutting approach requiring fundamental knowledge to be applied to management and governance. Such a reflection will include a discussion on the European Water Framework Directive.
