The Marine Institute will be at the Galway Science and Technology Festival promoting marine science with lots of activities for the public to enjoy. Featuring at the stand will include the introduction of Real Map of Ireland and the mapping of Ireland’s 220 million acre marine resource; tracking Wild Atlantic Salmon; telling tales of the secrets of the sea and seashore; Explorers Nobby Boat - touch tank. The Marine Institute will also be running the Real Map of Ireland competition for students to win a VIP tour on board the Research Vessel*, Celtic Explorer or a day out at the Explorers Laboratory, Nautilas classroom and Galway Atlantaquaria.
* Pending availability of the vessel an alternative visit to the Marine Institute headquarters may be offered.
