The Irish Fisheries Science Research Partnership (IFSRP) is hosting a mini conference 'Linking Research, Advice and the Fishing Industry' at the Marine Institute in Galway, Ireland. Throughout Ireland there are currently a wide range of marine research projects underway that deal with many aspects of the fisheries resource in the ecosystems of north east Atlantic. The objectives of this mini conference are to examine some of these research projects, explore how the results might improve and enhance future scientific advice, and highlight the critical role of industry in ensuring this linkage. The conference is aimed at fishing industry representatives and at scientists from Third Level and Semi State Organisations in Ireland who are engaged in the provision of scientific advice or who are conducting research related to the fisheries resource in the NE Atlantic. It should also be of interest to policy makers.
Registration (€15) will take place on the morning of the mini conference and interested parties should indicate by email to susan.finnerty@marine.ie or (091-387311) the names of persons from their organisation who plan to attend no later than June 18th.
