Integrating new Marine biotoxin testing tools in HACCP Food Safety Management
Workshop focus: The lack of preventive countermeasures and controls close to the production line can have severe operational consequences limiting the ability of the shellfish industry reaching its full commercial potential. The SPIES-DETOX project have focused on the development of rapid and cost-effective methods and procedures to enable the industry to make sound harvesting decisions and maximizing the product return. In the process of exploring new production procedures and market opportunities, the ability to monitor the marine biotoxin hazards involved with shellfish on-site provides the flexibility required to drive innovation and development of the shellfish sector today.
Who should attend: Shellfish industry stakeholders, technical managers, analysts, food safety and QA/QC personnel, and anyone wishing to gain insight into the available front-line tools in food safety management.
