Europe’s first Shortsea Congress is being staged in Dublin in June 2008.
It will be a gathering of European and Scandinavian shortsea practitioners representing ship operators (bulk and unitised), shippers & buyers of transport services, port, terminal operators, logistics professionals and the associated service providers such as legal, financial, insurance.
A focused two-day agenda is currently being created to cover topical and commercial issues and will include;
- current and projected freight flows,
- new cargo opportunities,
- potential for modal shift,
- intermodality,
- needs and requirements of the shipper,
- effective shortsea ports and associated distribution facilities,
- emerging technologies.
