Background: Philip Rodgers was for twelve years Senior Economist at the UK's Sea Fish Industry Authority (SFIA). For the last eight years, he has been director of the Centre for Fishery Economics Research Ltd, an independent private company in Lincolnshire, England, which undertakes research and consultancy in fisheries economics. He lectures at the University of Lincoln in macro- and micro-economics and is a PhD supervisor. He was previously a lecturer in monetary economics at the City of London Polytechnic. He has extensive experience of the EU Common Fisheries Policy (CFP) and policy-making process, advising the Council of Europe, participating in STECF and its Working Group meetings and also plays a major part in EU-funded marine related research projects.
