Enterprise Ireland has recently launched two R&D funding calls to support companies:
1. Small Projects; and
2. Innovation Management
Small Projects
Objectives:
The Small Projects provision is to support companies aiming towards achieving the following:

Establishing or increasing the R&D activity leading to an on-going R&D commitment in driving company development;

A demonstratable connection between R&D and the overall business objectives;
-
A culture of innovative thinking throughout the company;
-
Establishing or increasing the R&D capability within the company; and
-
Establish or develop quality R&D management systems and procedures.
Who can apply?
The Fund is open to Enterprise Ireland, Údaras na Gaeltachta and City and County Enterprise Board clients who are manufacturing or Internationally Traded Service companies that can show adequate cash resources to implement the proposed project.
Please note that large companies (i.e. companies who exceed the definition of a Small to Medium sized Enterprise SME ) are not eligible if they have previously been approved financial support toward R&D in the last 7 years from any of the following Agencies; Enterprise Ireland, Shannon Development, Údaras na Gaeltachta or the Industrial Development Authority (IDA).
Funding:
The expenditure limit is €150,000. A company may submit up to 3 projects for consideration but the overall expenditure limit for the application (inclusive of all projects) is €150,000.

Innovation Management
Training for Innovation and R&D
Objectives:
To
• increase the innovation performance (both technical & non-technical) of Irish based companies;
• increase the number of companies undertaking R&D for the first time;
• improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the innovation and R&D process in those companies already undertaking R&D; and
• achieve value added R&D by capturing the creative potential of employees.
Who can apply?
Companies from manufacturing and internationally traded services sectors, who are clients of Enterprise Ireland, Shannon Development, Údarás na Gaeltachta, IDA Ireland or The County Enterprise Boards.
Funding:
Participation fees of eligible companies will be funded by Enterprise Ireland at a rate of 70% for SMEs and 50% for non-SMEs.
