The National University of Ireland, Galway offered 30 scholarships for structured PhD programmes. The Hardiman Research Scholarships are fully-funded four-year PhD scholarships, focused on five key areas of research in which the University offers leading expertise. The list of suggested topic areas cover Biomedical Science and Engineering; Informatics, Physical and Computational Sciences and Environment, Marine and Energy. Possible marine research PhD Scholarships include the areas of
- Seabed Mapping;
- Renewable Ocean Energy;
- Fisheries, Biology and Aquaculture;
- Oceanography and Ocean/Atmosphere Interaction;
- Marine Biotechnology.
