Universities Ireland and the Electricity Supply Board (ESB) offered five scholarships to students undertaking a recognised Master's or the first year of a PhD programme.
Three of the scholarships were in the areas of Energy & Engineering. A further two scholarships were in the Arts, Business, Science and Social Sciences areas.
Among the postgraduate subject areas that ESB were particularly interested in supporting were engineering in all its forms (electrical and electronic engineering, environmental engineering, mechanical engineering, civil engineering and chemical engineering) and energy management; environmental monitoring and modelling; pollution prevention and control; sustainable development and climate change.
