Satellite Communication Aerial

Step 1: The Satellite Communication Aerial collects the data from the Data Acquisition System on the buoy and transmits it via satellite (Meteosat) to Germany.
Step 2: The data is then loaded onto the GTS (Global Telecommunications System) so that the meteorologists in different countries can have access to the data and use it for forecasts.
Step 3: Once the data is on the GTS the UK Met Office download it and send it to Met Eireann from where it subsequently arrives onto our web site.
