The status assigned to a production area is based on the last sample supplied.
If the production area has not been sampled at the biotoxin sampling frequency for that time of year for that species it will
be deemed closed on the expiry of that period. This closed status will supersede the status given on the last report from that area.
Two samples taken at least 48 hours apart are required to re-open an area that has been closed.
