Project Summary
The aim of the project is to explore the current application of signal detection methods, relevant to fisheries management. From a sound theoretical basis, develop quantitative methods for signal detection in complex systems for the building of fisheries management tools.
This project will extend the frontiers of fisheries science, by applying well grounded theory to real world situations in an innovative and unique way. Through interaction at ICES level with "think tank" groups such as SGMAS and SGRAMA, knowledge generated from this PhD will pave the way for the development of an entirely new approach to assessing and advising on ocean resource management.
