In March 2006, P&O Maritime Services (Ireland) Ltd commenced provision of ship management, operation and maintenance services for the Marine Institute’s two research vessels the RV
Celtic Explorer
and the RV Celtic Voyager. The support services are provided through P&O Maritime Services’ shore and sea based employees based in Galway. They include:
- Vessel crewing management
- Technical and operational ship management
- Engineering and workshop management
- Scientific equipment and instrumentation management
- Vessel and shore side infrastructure safety and security management
The ship management and operation services are provided to international standards and in accordance with P&O Maritime Services’ occupational health, safety, environment and quality systems and corporate governance requirements.
