Engaging with industry, particularly in relation to the development of management plans and the explanation of evolving scientific advice, is key to future sustainable commercial developments in the marine resource. The Marine Institute operates two purpose built research vessels, the RV Celtic Explorer and the RV Celtic Voyager, and a 300m depth-rated work class 'SMD Quasar' Remote Operated Vehicle (ROV). Details of marine survey services are available here.
