The Marine Institute and the Explorer partners have designed a number of training courses and workshops available for teachers and students to learn about our oceans.
Teachers Training Course:
A five-day in-service course for National School teachers provides teachers with experience to facilitate field trips to a local sandy and rocky seashore, as well as practical classroom sessions on how to bring the sea to the classroom through cross curricular activities.
This course is run annually in July each year in collaboration with various Education Centres. Visit Blackrock Education centre for further information or to enrol on the training course please contact the Galway Education Centre.
Be a Marine Scientist for a Day - Children's Workshop - Galway
Galway Atlantaquaria is home to one of the country’s largest displays of marine and fresh water life. The Galway Atlantaquaria provides workshops dedicated to teaching students about life in our rivers and seas. Lifetime Lab workshops – Cork:
