The Explorers Education Programme™ provides a range of marine modules to classes in primary schools, which are facilitated by outreach centres and marine education officers in various counties around Ireland. Primary school teachers can apply to participate in the modules which offer class visits by a marine education officer, teaching guides and recommended fun lesson plans supported by the NCCA curriculum, as well as a range of teachers resources and activities.
The modules include saltwater aquariums in class, seashore safari's, marine projects, marine workshops at centres and special art projects. Some centres offer a selection of the modules listed and bookings are essential. The marine workshops and special art project modules may incur a small fee directly payable to the centre.
