Manager Office of Marine Research and Development

Manager / Team Leader

As Manager of the Office of Marine Research and Development, you will play a central role in supporting marine and maritime research; leading a team in delivery of the Institute's competitive marine research funding programme, managing over €8m of research funds annually.

You will contribute to the Marine Institute's strategies relating to Marine Research, Innovation and Funding which will aim to maximise the ability to drive Marine Research and opportunities to participate in research programmes. You will provide expertise in the development of Ireland's marine research and innovation policy.

To be successful you will have at least five years relevant work experience including proven experience in the development, writing of and implementation of Strategic Plans; experience in managing complex research contracts and a demonstrated background of managing large budgets with demonstrated financial planning skills.

You will have excellent interpersonal skills, reflected in your demonstrated experience of building and managing credible relationships with national and international stakeholders and government representatives.
