Team Leader Ocean Modelling - Contract of Indefinite Duration
Are you an adventurous and driven individual looking for an exciting and new challenge? Do you have past experience in, and a passion for ocean modelling and oceanography? Does the idea of leading the development of technologies and projects used to maximise our modelling and forecasting potential in areas such as ocean energy, fisheries and aquaculture appeal to you?
The Ocean Modelling Team Leader will be responsible for leading the institutes modelling and oceanographic team in the provision of these services to a range of clients, including core customers and European Partners, while ensuring that the required resources are derived from research projects and a high performance computing environment remains in place to support this work. The Team Leader will also act on a strategic level by seeking to grow the user base for model products and related data services, while developing relationships and strategies with current and new project partners including other research & educational institutes, government and European Commission bodies.
To be considered for this exciting opportunity, you will have a degree in a relevant scientific or technical subject. You will be able to demonstrate experience in developing oceanographic models including circulation and biogeochemical models, with some experience of in-situ ocean observation. In addition you will have past experience of managing and leading a diverse team including scientists or technicians and collaborating at international level delivering European or industry funded projects.
