Summary of the Role:
The Team Leader will be responsible for building on the capacity existing in the Marine Institute Data Management team to support and develop Institute operational data services and marine data research activities. The individual will be responsible for 1) scientific data management, including supporting data processes for operational services including research vessels, sensor networks, oceanographic modelling, fisheries ecosystem, marine environmental and food safety programmes; 2) delivery of online data services e.g. Ireland's Marine Atlas (http://atlas.marine.ie), the Irish Spatial Data Exchange (www.isde.ie), Ireland's Marine Renewable Energy portal (www.oceanenergyireland.ie); and 3) leading data initiatives within the Institute and at a national level, and participating in new national and international R&D projects. Duration of Contract:
The successful candidate will be offered a Contract of Indefinite Duration following satisfactory completion of a 12 month probation period.
