Summary of the Role:
The Team Leader will be responsible for building on the capacity existing in the Marine Institute Application Development team, notably developing and supporting software to assist Institute operational programmes (Fisheries & Ecosystem, Marine Environment, Aquaculture, Oceanographic, Mapping, Advanced Technology), organisational systems (Facilities, Finance, HR), and research projects and research management (e.g. project websites, online information services, document management, etc.). The Team Leader will be responsible for managing and developing the capability and effectiveness of the Application Development team. This includes defining effective processes, prioritising and scheduling work, managing the delivery of development projects, coordinating software support and maintenance including through 3rd parties, and ensuring ongoing training and development of the Application Development team.
This role will involve working closely with the teams in the Ocean Science and Information Services service area, and extensive liaison with groups across the Institute with a highly collaborative approach required for scientific software development in particular. Duration of Contract:
The successful candidate will be issued with a contract of indefinite duration following satisfactory completion of a 12 month probation period.
