Irish Marine Data Buoy Observation Network

The Marine Institute in collaboration with Met Éireann manage the Irish Marine Data Buoy Observation Network. This is a network of five weather observing data buoys around Ireland that provide crucial data to improve weather forecasts and safety at sea.

The data buoys are moored surface buoys with instruments which collect weather and ocean data including wind speed and direction, pressure, air and sea surface temperature and wave statistics.
