Explorers Kraken Family Day celebrating European Maritime Day

The Marine Institute’s Explorers Education Programme are delighted to announce that they will be hosting five Kraken beach events for families and the public, celebrating local seashores around the country, as part of the European Maritime Day – my country, on Saturday 21st May at 12pm.

Events include:

  • Beach walks & talks exploring the seashore
  • 3 minute litter pickup
  • Kraken sand sculpture competition

Spot prizes will be given out on the day to winning Kraken sand sculptures. Prizes are provided by the Marine Institute’s Explorers Education Programme.

To help us know who is coming, PLEASE BOOK at: Explorers Kraken Family Day celebrating European Maritime Day Sessions.

This European Maritime Day event will be recorded by an official photographer from the Marine Institute’s Explorer’s Education Programme. Filming will take place throughout the day from 12pm. It is our policy to ensure that the recording is not intrusive. The photographer will seek your explicit consent should you be the subject of a photograph, or if you pose for a photograph. All recorded images will be used by the Explorer’s education programme for promotion, media and marketing purposes in relation to this educational programme. For each of the local events, the host at those sites will also capture recorded images and use in line with their privacy policies, and share with the Explorers programme.
