Arctic Frontiers Emerging Leaders Programme 2025

As part of Ireland’s continuing focus on Arctic issues, the Department of Foreign Affairs, through the Embassy of Ireland, Oslo and the Marine Institute support the attendance of one early career professional (based in Ireland) at the Emerging Leaders Programme in the margins of the Arctic Frontiers Conference in Tromsø, Norway.

Full details on the application process are available. Applications will be shortlisted by the Marine Institute and the Embassy and submitted to the Emerging Leaders Secretariat for final selection of the successful candidate. Successful applicants will be expected to engage with the Network of Arctic Researchers in Ireland for a minimum duration of 12 months on completion of the programme and provide a written report to DFA following the programme.

The programme fee is covered by the Department of Foreign Affairs. The Marine Institute will reimburse Travel and Subsistence expenses from Ireland to Bodø, and the return trip from Tromsø to Ireland to a maximum value of €750. These costs will be reimbursed after the conference based on vouched and valid expenses only (terms and conditions to be provided in advance to participants).
