MarTERA Co-funded Call 2017
The ERA-NET MarTERA, of which Ireland is a partner, have launched a transnational call for collaborative research projects in different areas of maritime and marine technologies. The overall goal of the ERA-NET Cofund MarTERA is to strengthen the European Research Area (ERA) in maritime and marine technologies as well as Blue Growth. The ERA-NET Cofund MarTERA is a network of 18 ministries, authorities and funding organisations responsible for funding research and innovation projects in maritime and marine technologies from 16 countries. Within the scope of the call Irish partners can be funded in projects on several areas covered by the call including “Novel materials development and structures; Sensors, automation, monitoring and observations; Safety and Security;”. In addition one sub-topic from the Advanced Manufacturing/Production priority area was also selected - Human computer interaction and Augmented Reality. The total Irish fund available is €1M, with minimum and maximum project awards running from €150k to €350k. The successful projects will run for a maximum of 3 years, and require a minimum of 2 participating countries.
The call is open to legal entities in the Republic of Ireland with the appropriate scientific and technical qualifications and expertise. SME's may participate as a project lead/project partner or a sub-contractor. Any proposal involving an industry partner from Ireland must also have a partner from an Irish Public Research Body.
