SMART/MI Training Through Research Surveys Scheme 2017
The Training Through Research Surveys Scheme (TTRS) is a collaboration between Strategic Marine Alliance for Research & Training (SMART) and the Marine Institute that increases national capacity in offshore marine research by offering seagoing placements on a range of research surveys on-board the national research vessels, RV Celtic Explorer and RV Celtic Voyager. On-board placements provide the experience and skills required to work at sea and facilitate career development in ocean science. Participation also serves as a valuable opportunity to network with leading Irish and European marine scientists.
Applications are invited from final-year undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate students from across the island of Ireland and can be submitted via SMART.
Closing dates are as follows:
- Friday 27th January for Anglerfish and Megrim
- Friday 10th February for the Blue Whiting
- Friday 14th April for all other surveys.
