SeaFest 2016, Galway

 

SeaFest, Ireland's national maritime festival, takes place this year in Galway on Saturday and Sunday, 2nd/3rd July 2016.

As part of SeaFest, the Marine Institute have commissioned an interactive exhibition to showcase Marine Institute science in the wider context of marine science while also educating people about the value of the ocean, the fragility of ecosystems and human impacts on it. It will also showcase advanced oceanographic work as well as giving an overview of the nature and work of the Institute's research vessels.

Now in its 3rd year, this years annual Our Ocean Wealth Conference takes place at NUI Galway as part of the 2016 SeaFest programme. The conference provides delegates to receive updates on the progress of Ireland's integrated marine plan, Harnessing Our Ocean Wealth and also hear perspectives from policy makers, industry leaders and researchers on the challenges and opportunities for Ireland in the marine arena.
