Registration Now Open: Annual Marine Economics and Policy Research Symposium

The 14th Annual Marine Economics and Policy Research Symposium takes place on Tuesday, 3 December in the PorterShed, Galway City.

The day will provide participants with an update and discussion on socio-economic research related to a broad range of marine policy topics such as
-    Marine management: governance issues and community engagement
-    Blue carbon and the value of seagrass ecosystem services
-    Ocean economy valuation and analysis
-    Offshore renewables: input-output analysis, public perceptions of alternative energy sources, and barriers to floating wind

The event, organised by the Socio-Economic Marine Research Unit in the University of Galway, will include speakers from the OECD, Ireland’s Maritime Area Regulatory Authority (MARA), University of Galway, University College Cork, Marine Institute, Queens University Belfast, Research Institute for Water and the Environment, Norway; and the Korea Maritime Institute.
