Marine Institute presents donations to Oranmore Community Development Association and Croi
The Marine Institute recently presented €1,615 to the Oranmore Community Development Association and Croi. The funds were raised at a quiz night where over one hundred staff members and the public attended.
Sean Connolly, Kathleen Sweeney and Rosemarie Butler representing the Marine Institute's Great Place to Work team presented the donations to Dolores Kilroe, Tom Broderick and Paul Tucker of the OCDA, and Luigi Ryan from Croi, thanking them for the work they do for the local community.
The €807.50 raised for the Oranmore Community Development Association will be used to provide funding towards first aid training and upkeep of the two defibrillators that are located at the local church in Oranmore, and in the 24hr taxi office, which are an essential First Aid equipment required in all public places, sports groups, and healthcare facilities.
As part of this initiative, the Institute also raised €807.50 for Croi, who help to fight heart disease and stroke in the west of Ireland.
