Join our Teachers Event, in association with Mayo Education Centre to explorers the Ocean and Climate Change, flooding and coastal defenses and a range of practical hands-on STEM activities to carry out with students in class.
The Marine Institute welcomes two new programmes on TG4 this week, which explore the wildlife of our Celtic coasts and the life and communities on the west coast of Ireland. Iontais na bhFarraigí Ceilteachaand An Cósta Thiar will air on Wednesday 12th January 2022, from 8.30pm.
Predicting and Managing Harmful Algal Blooms Impacts in the Coastal Seas of Europe now and in the future
7th April, 2021: Clew Bay and Achill, Co Mayo will be among the key study areas in SeaMonitor, a unique marine research project which is using innovative marine species tracking technology to better understand and protect vulnerable marine life in our oceans.
The Marine Institute's Explorers Education Programme recently engaged with up to seventy primary school children, as well as their teachers and parents, who took part in the Explorers programme that focused on learning about Whales and Dolphins, throughout February.
23 February 2021: On Thursday 25th February 2021, the Marine Institute will host the Burrishoole Research Day, a virtual symposium showcasing the wide network of researchers connected to the Marine Institute’s Newport Research Facility in Co Mayo.
