New US Ambassador to Ireland, Kevin O’Malley visits the Marine Institute

USA Irish Ambassador visit 2014 Ambassador Kevin O'Malley met with Dr Peter Heffernan, CEO of the Marine Institute today (14th November 2014) at the Marine Institute, Galway where Dr Heffernan highlighted the strong marine transatlantic relationship Ireland has with the USA.

Particular reference was given to the Galway Statement on Atlantic Cooperation that was signed by the USA, Canada and the EU here in 2013 which highlighted the effort to the align our ocean observation efforts to improve ocean health, stewardship and to promote the sustainable management of its resources.
