MFP Login

Marine Facilities Planning (MFP) is used by the Research Vessels Operations team for all aspects of survey planning and scheduling.

All ship-time applicants and chief scientists wishing to charter the RV Tom Crean or the RV Celtic Explorer must use MFP to apply for ship-time and to submit survey details. Applicants should consult the Applying for Ship-time page for further guidance.  

To apply for ship-time, please select 'Request an account' on the MFP homepage. Once logged into MFP, you can access the Scientist Portal and begin a Ship-Time Application (STA). If you experience any difficulties accessing MFP, please contact Research Vessel Operations .

In accordance with GDPR requirements, each scientist must update their own personal details in MFP. This includes dietary requirements, medical conditions, next-of-kin details, and ENG11 and PST issue dates.

As a first step, the chief scientist must enter the name, email address, and organisation of each participating scientist into MFP. Once added, each scientist will receive an automated email inviting them to create a password and access the survey details.
