Marine Institute Singers Special Guests at Choir Factor 2014

116_Choir Factor 2014_Andrew Downes 120414The Marine Institute Singers featured as special guests in the annual Choir Factor recently (Saturday, 12th April) performing to over 700 people at the Radisson Blu Hotel,Galway.The Marine Institute Singers won last year’s 2013 Choir Factor under the guidance of Choir Director Carmel Dooley, which helped raise €11,000 at last year’s event.

NUI Galway Singers, directed by Peter Mannion won the 2014 Choir Factor. The judging panel included Brendan O’Connor, Julie Feeney and Maire Ni Dhuibir. The annual event was organized by SCCUL Enterprises LTD in association with Corrib Lions Club, which will help raise funds for healing therapies and well being workshops in the SCCUL Sanctuary in Kilcuan, Clarinbridge.

Since winning Choir Factor 2013 the Marine Institute Singers have since participated in numerous events including singing with Cois Claddaigh in St. Nicholas’s Church, Galway. The Marine Institute Singers next outing will take place in May when they will take part in the Mayo International Choral Festival.
