The Wizard of Oz comes to Oranmore

Wizard of Oz Scientists, technicians and support staff from the Marine Institute at Rinville will swap their lab coats and laptops for broomsticks and greasepaint when they appear together with children from Scoil Mhuire in Oranmore in John Morley’s ‘The Wizard of OZ’ at the Oranmore Community Centre from Wednesday 10th December to Saturday 13th December.

All proceeds from the pantomime will be donated to two charities – the RNLI in Galway that provides a 24 hour lifesaving service at sea and CancerCare West, a non profit organisation, dedicated to supporting those whose lives have been affected by a cancer diagnosis.

‘It’s guaranteed to be a great night of fun for all’ says Wayne Griffin of the Marine Institute who is directing the pantomime. ‘It’s been a great opportunity to work together with the local community in support of two great causes. Everyone has put in so much effort and we’re really looking forward to the opening night!’

Tickets cost €10 for adults and €5 for under 12’s and doors open at 6:30pm for a 7o’clock start.  Refreshments will be available on the night during the interval with all proceeds going to Scoil Mhuire in Oranmore. Limited tickets will be available at the door but if you want to secure your seat call Gina on 086 0547417 or Laura on 087 7926970 to book tickets in advance or for further information.
