The Explorers publications for children includes a range of marine themed workbooks that can be used in the classroom. We have also included some of our favourite activity and colouring books that can enjoy at home.

MY CSI SQUID WORKBOOK

Its CSI time – that’s Cephalopod Science Investigations! Check out the Explorers Squid books and short film, and put on your science hat. The Explorers My CSI Squid Workbook can be used to help you discover the wonders of the different squid species as well as the deep blue sea.

MY EXPLORERS SEASHORE GUIDE WORKBOOK

My Explorers Seashore Guide Workbook is available in English and Irish. It provides children the opportunity to record their observations, explorations and discoveries on the seashore. The book supports a range of subjects on the primary school curriculum including science, geography, art, English and ICT.

Children can start creating their own Seashore Guide before going to the shore. Other activities can be completed after the seashore safari, including documenting the sand type, seaweeds and animals found on the shore. Activities also include taking photos, being a citizen scientist with Explore Your Shore!

THE SHAPES OF FISH AROUND OUR IRISH COAST

The Shapes of Fish around our Irish Coast booklet provides a range of outline drawings of fish found around the Irish coast that can be used for creative art classes. The book is full of information about species found on the shore and in the deep sea and is followed by a fun fishy quiz. The booklet is compiled by the artist Carmel Madigan.

EXPLORING OUR OCEAN COLOURING & ACTIVITY BOOK

The Exploring Our Ocean Colouring & Activity book provides lots of fun colouring pages filled with fun facts about how we use the ocean for recreation and fun, food, travel, as well as some of our favourite ocean animals. The book is by Cushla Dromgool-Regan and Dr Noírin Burke. The illustrations are by John Joyce.

EXPLORERS ACTIVITY BOOK

The Explorer’s Activity Book contains a number of fun exercises, colouring pages and activities. It includes information about Ireland’s marine resource, facts about the sea and the work of the Marine Institute. The book is by Cushla Dromgool-Regan and the illustrations were drawn by Don Conroy.

CAPTAIN COCKLE AND THE ROCK POOL COLOURING BOOK

The Captain Cockle and the Rock Pool Colouring Book contains a number of colouring pages illustrating the adventures of Captain Cockle meeting many “giant” seashore creatures. Captain Cockle and the Rock Pool is by John Joyce.
