Ocean Knowledge 2030 - Registration now open

 Ocean Knowledge 2030 conference, Dublin, 20th - 21st November 2024.The Marine Institute is pleased to announce that registration is now open for the Ocean Knowledge 2030 conference to be held in Dublin on 20th - 21st November 2024.

The conference will bring together a diverse national ocean community including academic and public research bodies, government departments, state agencies, ocean business and civil society. The event will provide a forum for exchange of information, fostering syngeries and collaboration across the national system and identifying key knowledge, research and innovation actions to address ocean sustainability and blue economy challenges. It will also formally launch Ocean Knowledge 2030, Ireland's new marine research & innovation strategy.

The Ocean Knowledge 2030 strategy is the new national strategy for Marine Research and Innovation for the period up to 2030. It will provide a framework to guide the alignment and coordination of research and innovation programming and investments in line with national, EU and international strategic priorities in ocean policy, planning and management. It will set out a range of specific actions to enhance national cooperation across the RDI system and ensure that marine research and knowledge deliver maximum impact to users and stakeholders. The strategy is also designed to advance the specific IMPACT 2030 action to ‘make Ireland an international leader in marine science and technology across the full R&I value chain.
