Explorers Education Programme taking bookings for its back to school programme 2022-2023

Explorers Education ProgrammeThe 2022-2023 school term is almost here, and teachers can now plan seashore-safaris and a range of marine project modules in the classroom, for an action-packed timetable as part of the Explorers Education Programme.

“We are thrilled to be launching our back to school campaign this week inviting teachers to start booking their class modules and Ocean Champion School projects with the Explorers outreach team. We can promise some very exciting activities to spark imagination and challenge young enquiring minds this term.

From seashore safaris, STEM workshops, and aquariums in the class, to a range of new marine themed projects, the Explorers team are really excited about delivering a range of amazing cross curricular content to children this year,” explained Ms Cushla Dromgool Regan, Explorers Strategic Education and Communications Manager, Camden Education Trust.

Last year the Explorers Programme delivered over 400 modules and reached nearly 14,000 children in fourteen coastal counties around Ireland including Donegal, Leitrim, Sligo, Mayo, Galway, Clare, Limerick, Kerry, Cork, Waterford, Wexford, Wicklow, Dublin and Louth.

With two class visits per module and a wealth of educational resources for the children and teachers, this is a great way to provide themed learning, as well as interacting with marine scientists and experts in the classroom.

“Each of the team members provide practical activities as well as sharing their stories about working in marine sciences, biodiversity and environmental care, and their adventures at sea, which often opens up a new world for children. Seeing their excitement makes it a rewarding experience for all of us. We can’t wait to start the new school year!” Ms Dromgool-Regan added.
