A Stakeholders Conference on the establishment of an Irish Marine Graduate Programme (IMGP) will take place from 11 a.m. till 4 p.m. on Friday April 27th at the Hodson Bay Hotel, Athlone.
This Conference is open to anyone with an interest in Marine Postgraduate (PhD) Training. The organisers are particularly interested in getting the views of employers of marine graduates.
The Marine Institute and the Irish Research Council for Science, Engineering and Technology(IRCSET) are co-funding a scoping study on the feasibility of the establishment of an IMGP which will involve all third level institutes that have a strong marine research interest along with national and international institutes.
The overall goal of the project is to enhance the doctoral training experience so that Marine graduates are provided with specific training and transferable skills in addition to world-class marine science research capabilities. An agenda and list of speakers will be posted on our events page closer to the date.
RSVP please to Mike Fitzpatrick, NUI Galway.
