Marine Institute on board for Ireland’s National Workplace Wellbeing Day 2022
27th April 2022: The Marine Institute is delighted to participate in the 8th annual National Workplace Wellbeing Day 2022 taking place on Friday 29th April 2022.
An initiative of IBEC, Ireland's National Workplace Wellbeing Day is a nationwide campaign designed to help improve employee health through promoting better nutrition, mental and physical activity in the workplace. To mark the day, the Marine Institute has organised a number of wellbeing events across a full week focusing on employee wellbeing, including online workshops on meditation and mindfulness, building mental resilience, financial wellbeing, as well as Pilates classes.
Speaking about the event Catherine Johnston, Human Resources Manager at the Marine Institute said, "As we all adapt to a new hybrid way of working, the health and wellbeing of our people has never been more important. We welcome the opportunity to celebrate our people, whose skills, experience and passion for the marine are central to the work we perform for government and other stakeholders. At the Marine Institute, our people have always been our greatest asset and we look forward to participating in initiatives that support a positive work environment and promote workplace health and wellbeing."
The Marine Institute has a staff of 235 employees, and office locations in Galway, Newport, Dublin and in satellite locations around the coast. In 2021, the Marine Institute achieved platinum certification from the National Standards Authority of Ireland (NSAI) against Excellence Through People (ETP), recognising the organisation's investment in and commitment to its teams, communications and people management frameworks.
